And I move around at least 30 minutes a day!

By moving we mean anything that makes your muscles work, whether it's exercise, sport, or simply moving during your normal daily activities (walking, doing housework, stairs...)  Since our lifestyle has become much too sedentary EVERY opportunity to make your muscles work is a good one.

  • I walk every time I can. I get off the bus a few stops early; I use the stairs instead of the elevator; I take walks...
  • I avoid being inactive for long periods of time, like when I watch television.
  • I get out of my chair, stretch and do flexibility exercises for a few minutes every hour.
  • I play with my children to be active.
  • I ride my bicycle, walk or take my skates for short distances.
  • I'm planning to take up a sport.
  • Housework, do-it-yourself projects and gardening are good physical activities.

Why eat a healthy and balanced diet?

Food is our engine's fuel. Our body draws the essential nutrients it needs to perform well from the food we eat. Both excesses and lacks have an impact on our metabolism and can cause many discomforts (fatigue, obesity, weak bones, depression...) and illnesses (type 2 diabetes, certain cancers...).
